oy vey. I reall need to post more often. I mean, I know nobody reads these but still.

SO! uh updates as usual. SB10 was really good. I didn't get sunburnt or anything! It was prett relaxing the whole way through, but then there were also teams competing against one another so I was pretty happy. I made new friends kind of. so that was also really awesome. My NHS induction is next week, prom is in a couple of months, and Alice in Wonderland is next month. SAT's are in May. So you could say I'm a little busy right now.
I'm doing more with my sewing now that I have Fashion and textiles this trimester. Though so far the only sewing I've got done was one dress that I cut in half and made a skirt and shirt out of, and then the little sample pieces we have to make proving we know how to do certain things. It's a little tedious and we still have like two more things to do. even though we've been working for about two weeks. Anyway I ordered a vintage 40's pattern today as well as an 80's one. the 40's one is to die for, it's high waisted pleated shorts that received Mom's Modesty Seal of Approval. The 80's one is pretty basic: a wrap dress with slight shoulder pads. I also found a romper pattern in my sewing stuff as well as a late 60's toddler pattern complete with the original iron-ons. I think now that there are two soon to be newborns in the family, those would make adorable Christmas presents. And lastly I found some 60's Barbie patterns which are just so cute. I might do that as a side project.
And more on the whole fashion subject, I've been reading a lot of really good fashion books lately. I kind of went crazy at the library a couple of weeks ago, getting all the fashion books that came out within the last two years that looked interesting. I've only gotten around to flipping through most and completing one so far. The one I did finish was Crystal Renn's autobiography- Hungry. I thought it would be interesting as she is the highest paid plus size model in the industry and I think she's really good. Well It was really uplifting as well which was very unexpected. I felt better about my body after reading and lately I've been struggling more with my body image (it's been yo-yoing between 145 and 150 for the past couple of months which has been hard). So I would recommend that one. The one I'm currently reading is Vogue Fashion : Over 100 Years of Style by Decade and Designer, in Association With Vogue. This one is really informative and helps you learn which clothes come from which decade as well as what certain designers are known for. In the beginning there is fashion broken up by decade from 1900-2000 with plenty of pictures. The second half is made up of an encyclopedia of designers. So that one is also pretty good.
Well I think that's about it... not much else new. Just living life. Enjoying it. You know.

Gaga and other wonderful things.

So, Gaga is headlining Lollapalooza. Which means that I have already started saving my money for Lollapalooza. The rest of the lineup, except for headliners which were leaked, is currently unknown to the public but is bound to be great. My friend and her brother always go, so as long as my parents see the light then everything is for sure already. CROSS YOUR FINGERS! If I do get to go, I'm totally making a special outfit for the night of :D

Florida is in less than 3 weeks. I'm still going to the Y and stuff, but I'm basically having body issues right now because I randomly gained 5 pounds so I've finally gone back to eating healthy. Except for last night, when I basically ate sugar and then some pizza. All while watching Food Inc. Yeah I don't know how that was possible either.. And then I'm going back to Florida in late June for my sister's vball tourny...Well the real reason my pale ass is going is Hogwarts at Universal Studios! Wands at Ollivander's I cannot wait. So fucking excited :D

I got my hair cut and I like it, but I always have to straighten it which can get on my nerves.. It's too short to wear curly. But also I think I am going to bleach all my hair this summer, so I'm blonde! but also with cool colours and stuff... and then before school starts I'll cut it off into a faux hawk. So that's two things off my list of things I've always wanted to do but probably won't because they're risky.

Last night was really fun. I hung out with Maria and we saw Shutter Island (see review below), then went to Buffa Louie's for dinner, Went to Kroger and Wal-Mart (where we picked out a Goosebumps double feature and The Perfect Score (again, reviews below)), then picked up Magen from her house, and we promptly came back to Maria's house for a sleepover. We started off watching Goosebumps, then the Perfect Score, then talked for an hour or so, where the subject of Magen's possibly impending conversion to vegetarianism came up. Maria and me both said she should see Food Inc., nominated for an Oscar (you know the drill), though neither of us had seen it, so we looked on Maria's Netflix and sure enough there it was. About the time that was over it was around 6 am, and we decided to call it a night. It was great, very spur of the moment which is always lovely.

Well this next week is finals week, which is really exciting. Next trimester I have my very last German class ever, and Sewing! Finally, I ahve been waiting for this for a loong time. I can begin working on my Gaga outfits. I'm working on my final project in art, which is a pop art self portrait in the style of Warhol. It's looking pretty good and since I'm no painter that is very surprising. If it turns out amazing, I'll put a pic up on here! Now onto those reviews:

Shutter Island: I thought it was really well made, very stylized, very well acted. I really liked the storyline as well. I must say, it was different than I expected, and not very Scorsese- like, but at the same time it still was. There were a lot of unexpected twists and, to be honest, it really took a toll on my brain.By the end of the movie, I had been jerked around so much my brain almost refused to take the ending of the movie as real. It's very hard to explain, but if you see it, which I recommend, you will understand.

A-

Goosebumps: No, it wasn't a real movie. It was in the $5 bin at Wal- Mart, but I love these things so much. It just reminds me of my childhood, the cheesy music and intro, which looks kind of like it was edited in Paint. The real surprise was Ryan Gosling as the main character. I honestly wanted to watch a ton of these after it was over.

As a fan, A+.; as a critic, D.

The Perfect Score: Uhh, what? There were so many well- known actors in this, it was almost Valentine's Day. Just kidding, but still. It was about the cliche group of misfits who band together in order to do something heroic, in this case steal the answers to the SAT. Since I know that nobody is planning on watching this anyway, I feel shameless about giving away the ending. They end up breaking into the office only to find out that the answers can only be accessed with the help of five other passwords (or something along those lines). Well they decide, after much anguish, to split up the SAT and the three pairs each answer a certain portion of the SAT (which they can access on the computer with no passwords needed). Anyway they find out through teamwork they can do anything, get to the SAT and all decide they don't need the answers they can do it on their own, where the only good part of the movie, the asian, slips the answers to all the stoners. It was an MTV film if that gives anything away about the quality. Honestly though, The stoner asian was absolutely hilarious. Also starred Scarlett Johansson, surprisingly enough.

D

Food Inc.:
I'm not completely ignorant about where food comes from. I have done research, I have seen the hidden camera footage from the slaughterhouses. This was very eye opening though. I thought the film maker did a very good job of presenting different sides of arguments. There was some bias against the corporations, but they kind of showed you everything, not just what would prove their side of the argument. There were a lot of startling statistics and information. Like how many of the people in teh FDA used to be Presidents or CEO's of those major food corporations... This is a must see.

A

P.S. I don't know why I never said anything before but, RIP Lee "Alexander" McQueen. You were such an inspiration, so creative, so innovative. When I found out, I honestly couldn't function for about a day. Your Suicide was such a tragedy. I always wanted to meet you and have so much respect for you and what you make, but now I cannot. I'm still not quite sure I understand but I don't think I reall have to. We love you, we miss you.

No, I'm not dead. But I do have a review!

Okay so I went to Cirque du soleil today... and it was absolutely amazing. I went to the traveling version of Alegria and was blown away. I loved nearly everything about it, especially how weird it all was. I kept expecting Tim Burton to walk out, it reminded me so much of Big Fish, which is not a bad thing at all. From what I can remember, there were clowns (that were actually funny), acrobats, contortionists, live fabulous music, balancers, a guy who was basically on a rubber band, fire breathers but who also did tricks and caught on fire and stuff, a ribbon girl/ring girl, and that's all I can remember right now. The whole atmosphere was just terrific. My seat was not the greatest, but after it started it didn't even matter. My favorite was probably when they moved the panels of the stage to reveal a huge trampoline in the shape of an x. They were doing all sorts of tricks nearly hitting each other but you knew they wouldn't. They're professionals. I also loved the clowns. They were still doing clown things, as expected, like slapstick and such but then in one scene I believe they were imitating a train and then they just kind of broke out into beat boxing and it was just hilarious. Those were the two standout performances, but I really did love it all. Some other cool things was the audience involvement, the performers would occasionally bring an audience member up on stage or in the spotlight to participate (they were in the VIP section, but still). Also I liked how the performers would also serve as grips as opposed to hiring actual grips. My only complaints was the huge red light that would occasionally come on, shining directly towards my section and blind me; as I was sitting evry far away from the stage, I couldn't really see the makup or costumes well which was a bummer; also the first act was much stronger than the second, and there was not really any big bang at the end. The very best thing about Cirque du Soleil? It's like a circus without the animal cruelty and gimmicks. Completely human, and all about true mind blowing performances as opposed to the strong man or balancing plates.

I would give this a strong A. If you have enough money and a Cirque show ever comes to your town, go see it. It's the experience of a lifetime.

P.S. I clapped so hard my arms started hurting. Also, I'm watching ice dancing right now and I keep comparing it to Alegria.

oh boy

Wow. a lot of stuff has happened.
Friendships have been rekindled, posts have been posted, and I have been stressing about my future.
Okay, lets start with that last one. I returned to school on Tuesday, excited about the upcoming possibilities. (no, I wasn't actually excited. It's school.) Well I get there and then I find out we have Srt that day. well, I love srt so that was great. Soon enough my happiness was thwarted when I heard that half of that srt would be spent in the auditorium, hearing about what classes we needed to take the following year. Yes, I think it's crazy that we have to do scheduling halfway through the year too. And even crazier is the fact that the upcoming seniors, the ones who in a little more than a year will be thrown into the real world, get the least amount, two day, to choose the classes that the rest of their life or careers may well depend on. Anyway, after changing my schedule many times, I have finally decided on which classes I will take. The only new and exciting ones are Newspaper, which I think I will enjoy and it looks great on your resume and whatnot. And also internship! That's right folks, I already have an internship all lined up, thanks to my big sis and her amazing connections. I am really worried about the application, and REALLY hope it goes through because the woman I have an internship with, Alyssa, is a local entrepreneur. She makes children's capes and sells them locally as well as on etsy, and since I might want to make my own product once I graduate from high school or college, this would b a great experience, as well as a great reference. Besides, I would get to practice my sewing skills.
I have also posted new looks on my lookbook. I used to think I really would fit in on there, but so far the most hypes I've gotten was four. I have been hyping more looks though and so my karma should improve..
My news years resolution is pretty good this year I think. Read the Bible in a year. I realized I have never read the whole way through on my own, and I thought this year would be the year. So far I've kept up without a hitch and even got my mom to do it with me.
I got a twitter! and sent gaga a tweet! I think if she actually replied I might have a heart attack. anyway I'm Alex's friend and then i added a couple more. we'll see how this works out.
I went to the ymca yesterday and it went fine. Not as sore as I'm used to. But I cycled for 30 minutes and then did some arm, leg, and ab weights.

so I shall update you when updates come! and I know I haven't posted in awhile, but this is really just an effort for myself, who actually reads this?

oh and here are my links.

Where are my keys? I lost my phone.

yeah I know I haven't posted in a bit...

BUT THINGS ARE GOING GREAT.
I just switched into a new trimester, and I loooove all my classes. Or the people in my classes I guess.
. I'm obsessed with Lady gaga and omg she's coming near here, and I'm probably going to her concert with one of my friends Zan, ASK YOUR POP.
. I'm also obsessing over Bowie right now... I can't believe I missed out on him for such a long time.
. My ex friend, Pri, and I are kind of friends again... wellll it's more like we eat lunch and talk sometimes. like "how was your day" talk. but there isn't any bitterness. so that's hot.
. I like everybody right now. like I'm just pleasant lately. I think its because schoool is going so freaking well.
. I talked to my youth pastor the other day, and it went real well. I was nervous because usually if we talk, he's asking about deep shiz, and unless I'm in the mood, I hate it when that happens... but it was fun. I'm talking again next Monday.
. soon I'm going to Joann's and getting some supplies for Christmas presents. Zan, whaddya want?
. I'm getting better at drawing. I started drawing guys (they're still pretty bad), but I also started drawing more than one look on a page which looks realll nice.
. the other day, I got 9/10 on a grammar quiz... I'M horrible at grammar. I was so proud.

I think that's it...

LOVE YOU

p.s. lookbook! I'm on there now

updates: oink oink

Well, for the past week I have been incapacitated... with swine flu! That's right, swine flu! The symptoms started on Saturday evening while I was perfecting my discostick, and though they are not as bad now (they have varied in intensity depending on the day), they are still here. On Tuesday night I had the worst cramping pain I have ever felt. It was just a constant sharp pain in my stomach, and I swear it rivaled the pain of childbirth. Not that I've ever felt that before, but really. So I had to miss school the only time I would have actually wanted to go (three day week, Thursday and Friday were already off). I didn't get to dress up for the last day of school prior to Halloween, and I have to make up 2 tests before the end of the trimester, which is next week. and we don't have SRT next week, so I'm not sure when that's going to happen...

Let's see... nothing else is really happening... school is still a bitch, though trimester 2 is almost here, along with drawing! I'm crossing my fingers that Mrs. Ryser doesn't like grammar as much then as she does now.

Halloween is two days away, and I need a pumpkin. I'm going to do Jack Skellington from the nightmare before Christmas. Easy, yet creative. I did Jack and Sally last year and everybody loved it, so here's to another year. Zan cut my Lady Gaga wig but I realized that in the back you can totally see through the wig so it looks like it's balding. HA oh well. I missed the Halloween dance (oink oink), BUT if all goes as planned I will be going to Madi's Halloween party tomorrow.

Yes it's still October, but I'm already excited for Christmas. Which reminds me, I am hosting Thanksgiving for the fishack this year. I'm nervous but I think it should be fun. Last time the fishack did something here people seemed to enjoy themselves. But Christmas. Last year I did the majority of the decorating which I didn't mind, Because the tree looked absolutely fabulous, and so all compliments were directed towards me. I also got a black mini Christmas tree last year at borders on DEC 26 (adding to my pink one from borders the year before), which I'm excited to decorate. I'm already pestering my parents to go ahead and buy that record player now so I can break out the Bing.

Also, my parents said they are thinking about buying a ticket so Eric can come home for a couple of days for Christmas which would make this Christmas absolutely perfect. I'm almost 100% going to Chicago with Zan and her parents fir New years eve through like the 2nd or 3rd, which would be lotsss of fun. (My parents still have to discuss it, but they said its a probably). And April is pregnant again! so congrats to her, and I hope it's another girl.

Okay. I really need to update more often, but I'm so busy.

P.S. I saw Paranormal Activity twice and loved it. It's the scariest movie I've ever seen and if you like being scared, go see it. seriously.

P.P.S. I'm Pescatarian.

Blame it on the girls

Oy, I have been having a relatively good time since the last post. First tri is half over, and I currently have a C in APUSH and a C+ in English, and then an A in Algebra II and an A- in German III. Pretty good, eh?
This weekend was lots of fun, and incredibly eventful. Friday was homecoming, which was great, Alex and I danced our asses off. Coincidentally I didn't want to move for a couple of days when I got home. Saturday Hank, Jamie, and I all went to Alex's to help paint her room, which didn't happen but good job to Jamie for taping the stuff. Then we created a family of ourselves on Sims 3. That was interesting, and after that Jamie had to go home, but the rest of us went to see Jennifer's Body.
At our theaters they have recently started enforcing the ID rule, where you have to be 17 to buy tickets for an R-rated film. Well the only photo ID I have is my passport from 5 years ago, and I brought it anyway since I'm the only 17 year old out of my friends. And they didn't even check the ID's! It was a bit of a relief I guess but I was mad that the one time I brought an ID they didn't ask.. I guess they thought that if we were going to a 10 PM film, you're older.
So I loved Jennifer's Body. Diablo Cody is one of the few writers that I know of and love. (She wrote Juno.) The snappy dialogue was there, though some of it was kind of obscure so it was hard to understand. Megan Fox hasn't improved in her acting since Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Amanda Seyfried was really good. This made up for her doing Mamma Mia. There were some confusing bits, and some parts didn't need to be in the movie, but I really thought it was a great film. It was little different than I though it would be, it wasn't as funny as it was portrayed in the trailers, and just a lot weirder. The music was freaking awesome, and the pool scene was crazy. I wish my town had a pool like that. GO SEE THE FILM!
I am now on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which is turning out really well. I think if I have time to read, I could finish it by the end of this week. I am also becoming a little obsessed with the series. I keep thinking about things randomly from the books and if I read before bed then I have dreams about it, which isn't entirely uncommon. I love Fred and George even more in the books than the movies.
I'm growing out my hair. It's now at the point where I can't put it up, but if I leave it down it looks really weird. So I've had to french braid it so it will be curly and not weirdly straight. I've also been listening to a lot of the artists on the New Moon soundtrack, and I recommend you do the same. They're great. And Mika, he is wonderful. Not one bad track on his sophomore album. And he's English.

I do believe that's about it. I'm bumpin to Allein Allein right now. I think I'm doing alright.
